The long-term fund will help protect the show’s legacy and strengthen its charitable mission for generations to come
DEVON, Pa. — June 30,2026 — After more than 50 years of bringing together competitors, breeders, spectators and volunteers, Dressage at Devon has announced its intent to establish an endowment dedicated to the long-term future of the nonprofit organization and its historic competition.
The endowment will be designed to create a permanent source of financial support for Dressage at Devon. While annual donations and sponsorships will remain essential to producing the show each year, an endowment can provide greater stability by allowing invested charitable gifts to generate support over time.
“Over the past year, we’ve focused not only on creating another exceptional show, but on ensuring the long‑term strength and sustainability of this organization for the next 50 years,” said Nicole DelGiorno, President of Dressage at Devon. “I spend a lot of time speaking with young people in our sport, and they always tell me about their dreams of competing under the lights in the Dixon. Because of the incredible support of our community last year, we are in the best financial position we have ever been in, but I want to be able to look those kids in the eye and tell them with confidence that this show will be here for them 10, 20, and 30 years from now.”
For nonprofits, a thoughtfully structured endowment can help leaders plan beyond the next annual budget, navigate rising expenses and continue investing in the programs central to their mission. Radene Gordon-Beck, Partner at Kingsview Partners, explains how responsible long-term investment and spending policies can turn gifts made today into an enduring resource for the future.
“Endowments are a great tool for nonprofit organizations to plan for the future, maintain stability and support their mission over generations by investing donations and using the returns rather than the principal,” says Gordon-Beck. “An endowment offers tax advantages to the donor whether through a tax deduction or qualified charitable contributions from tax-deferred accounts. Endowments offer a win-win strategy for the nonprofit and those who support the organization and want to see its long-term viability.”
Over the coming months, Dressage at Devon will develop the governance, investment and gift-acceptance policies necessary to establish the fund responsibly. Additional information about the endowment, its initial funding goals and opportunities to participate will be announced as the initiative takes shape.
“Dressage at Devon belongs to generations of people who have competed here, volunteered here and stood ringside with a dream growing in their heart,” DelGiorno said. “Our responsibility is to make certain that experience remains possible for the generations still to come, and I am extremely thankful for the foresight of our Board in taking this important step.”
